New Blog Article: Pedagogy, Andragogy, Geragogy
A new article by Varuzhan Avanesyan has been published on the InfoSkills blog, exploring how children, adults and older adults learn, and what this means for trainers.
InfoSkills has launched a blog, where we will publish articles and resources on soft skills, learning and development.
The first article, “Pedagogy, Andragogy, Geragogy: How Children, Adults and Older Adults Learn”, is written by Varuzhan Avanesyan.
In the article, you will find:
- where the three terms come from and how adult education theory has evolved from 1833 to the present day;
- Malcolm Knowles’s 6 principles of the adult learner;
- what science says about the ageing brain and learning;
- a comparison table of the three approaches and a practical cheat sheet for trainers.
The article draws on international sources (WHO, AACSB, Annual Review of Psychology and others) and includes 6 charts.
